The Transformation 2.0 Guiding Team along with the Mission Committee is sponsored an SPC Day of Outreach. The big event took place on Saturday, April 21, 2018. We had 150 people who volunteered in for the day.

We know that God is at work in our community, and He has called us to serve. We invite ALL SPC members and friends, of all ages, to share their gifts, talents, and time by participating in a morning of outreach on April 21.

God is on the move in our community. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10 (NIV). Now we have a church-wide opportunity to answer that call to serve!

Why an SPC Outreach Day?

As we all know, Sycamore Church is a welcoming church. As we look into the future God has for us, the Transformation 2.0 Guiding Team has come to believe that we also need to be a serving church. We know that many of our members are very much involved in service around the church and in the community. And we also have learned how important it is that the church be involved in outreach activities that we can do together. Our goal for the SPC Outreach Day is to introduce members who may not have been previously involved in a day of outreach so that all can know the joy that God brings to those who serve, even in small ways. And those who have already been serving in one of the SPC Outreach Day ministries will be encouraged with others joining in serving with them.

This was a day of Christian Service filled with the Holy Spirit. Sycamore's Outreach Core Team made commitments to over 10 organizations/missions in our community requiring at least 150 servants. The need was great, but we knew that SPC could meet and exceed that need. Participants worked on a variety of projects: painting, cleaning, doing yard work, filing, sorting, preparing food, providing child care, and acting as Prayer Warriors! Really, there was something for everyone. We even had plans for the children and their families!
